It was accompanied by the following caption:
Maypole Dancing.

    Following the presentations a display of Maypole dancing was given by twenty children from the Cheddleton area who had been trained by Miss Geraldine Alcock and her sister Yvonne.
    They were:- Carole Ball, Kathryn Carnwell, Kathleen Carr, Julie Clowes, Angela Jackson, Lorraine Keeling, Julie Morris, Christine Pearson, Catrina Palin, Alison Pointon, Carolyn Rushton, Hilary Sheldon, Jennifer Shenton, Joan Shenton, Janey Shenton, Carol Shirley, Julie Wilshaw, Karen Woolridge, Karen Keeling and Julie Owen.
    The girls were aged between eight and thirteen years and attend schools at Moorside, Westwood, Cheddleton and Wetley Rocks.
